No.
Guilds made this way always fail. If you want to make a guild work you need to get some friends to join first. Get 5-10 friends then worry about recruiting.

No.
the whole point of the 100gp is to discourage you from inviting complete imbicils.
do a better job recruiting, and you wont lose your money; and you'll have a better guild because of it.

Can I get a refund on my identification kit? I identified a bunch of golds, but they were all worthless. Why can't I get a refund?
Seriously, it's 100 gold. I can make that by stepping outside a town for a minute. If you're going to do something that costs you money, then make sure you spend it on something that's worth it.
Refunds (on anything NPC controlled) = bad idea

Again the 100g price is to keep people from randomly inviting a horde of players into their guild. Best thing to do is what I do, play with some others and wait for tehm to ask to be invited. So far this has worked for me and I have made several succesful guilds that way. I am now on Guild #4 and atm I am just starting. What I usualy do when I leave a guild is to put in charge the player that I trust the most. It works and now there are several guilds with my main character as the creator.

What Admins Bane said. 100g is there to make sure there are more STABLE guilds and less "horde" guilds.

I think you guys are missing the point. All the OP is asking for is a refund when players quit guilds. He may have been careless and recruited a bunch of people he should not have, but even guilds where you only invite people you consider your friends can still leave in a big chain reaction causing wasted time and money.
It would be nice to get that gold back, and maybe make people think twice about being guild jumpers. Making people may 100g to leave a guild would only make those guilds stronger IMO.
Getting a refund on things bought for your a guild hall would also be nice. It allows the possability for small guilds with common goals to merge without one guild loosing out on all of the money that was spent on their guild.
You know...the reason this game is in such a craptastic state is because every time someone has a game suggestion, there are always an army of people ready to bash the idea without considering the posative things the suggestion could do for the game. It is ALWAYS the negative. Try to modify the suggestion to be more of what you would like to see as an alternative, instead of just bashing the idea.

You think this is the first time this idea has come up? it isn't believe me.
Charge people to leave? Bad idea, it's a person right to leave if they wish. There is many valid reason for leaving a guild.
Being a guild leader isn't cheap. People who can't afford to loss a few k shouldn't make a guild.
Buying stuff for a guild hall when you don't even have a decent base of friends to help is stupid.
Stupidity shouldn't be refunded. Learn from your mistake and move on.

Perhaps it's even better to also set a fee for entering the guild.
100g.
Leaving, also 100g.
That could make people think a little more before they join / leave.
Specially the new players that don't have that much gold.
Refund on the hall and features is a good idea.
Even if it's 10% it will add up when you have a full hall.
I do like the friends surgestion.
You could discuss setting up a guild together and splitting costs to show commitment.
That way, you know you have a stable foundation.
When you have that stable group of people, you can start recuiting.
If the 'friends' don't show that much commitment, don't start the guild or start searching some new friends.
Edit, just read Admins Bane post:

That's true.
But I left my guild yesterday (after almost a year) for one of those reasons and would not have minded to pay a small fee.
When I join a guild that does not meet my expectations, it's also my mistake.

I pay 100g to invite a person. He joins. He should have to pay back the money to leave. You stated that 100g is not much anyways. It is only fair.
And as I said with guild hall refunds, it makes MERGING guilds a possibility. It is not stupidity, it is making things easier for players to build guilds with friends where there is'nt so much to lose in the process.

Don't agree on pay back.
You invited someone, that's your gold.
If someone wants to leave, there should be no 'reward' for you.
Your guild was not good enough, so no refund.

How is it a reward? there is nothing gained in the process....100g out, 100g back in. There are many people who will join your guild after fully being explained the goals of the guild, and what features are available, and will still leave within the day. That mistake falls on both people, not just the guild leader.

Yeah.. Its better to have friends in the guild (thats a given). If worse comes to worse, you can leave your guild to join one with a friend. Smaller guilds are more fun anyways.
You all make 100g sound like a lot of gold. If i didnt like a guild, 100g wouldnt make the difference whether i leave or not.

If you ask me, it is a completely stupid game mechanic in the first place to have to pay to invite someone. It really does'nt make a difference at all that it is in the game.

Think of it as a fee for the paperwork that has to be done by the guild registrar to record person X as a member of your guild.
Now, it didn't used to have a charge when the game first started, however, people would just sit in ascalon and send random invites to anyone and everyone that didn't have a tag behind their name, this stopped that stupidity and I'm glad for it. The cash is easy to earn, go earn it.

It made quite a huge difference when I was unguilded, usually raked up pile of invites by forgetting myself afk in an outpost, and ever since the 100g cost for recruiting came in, these ninjainvites ended. :b

An automatic refund wouldn't work well.
1. Refund should go to inviter, who might not even be playing GW anymore, but I imagine it would go to the current leader, even if he didn't pay the fee.
2. I see many recruiters asking the invitee to pay the fee. So if he wants to leave he would have to pay again.
No refunds for guildhalls or services.
Again, who would get the refund? Not all halls or services are paid for by a single player. If the refund goes to the leader (whom I assume would be the only one with the ability to sell) would he return the gold to the original payee(s)?
Too much room for abuse with both. The OP is not thinking about the various ways that guilds are run. This would only work with the "ideal" guild, of which very few exist.
